Sign pair guide
Aries and Aries compatibility: two self-starters and the help neither asks for
Your partner didn't get the job they'd been talking about for a month. You hear it from a friend's message, not from them. At dinner they talk about the gym, a podcast and the weekend, and when you ask how the week went, the answer is 'Fine. Busy.' You'd have said exactly the same. That's two Aries in one evening: two people who'd rather sort it out alone than admit there's anything to sort.
Two Aries do compete: who leads, who wins, who gets the last word. You can settle a loud argument the same evening and still miss the rejection your partner hasn't mentioned. In our date model, two Aries birthdays share a Venus sign more often than any other Aries pairing does.
Aries and Aries compatibility runs high on energy, loyalty and quick forgiveness, because both partners share fire, a cardinal drive and Mars as ruler. The weak spot is support. Two people who both say 'I'm fine' can miss each other's worst weeks. The pairing works when you agree on a plain signal for 'I need a hand' and use it.

Some signs couldn't be confirmed
A date alone doesn't tell us the birth time or time zone, so we allow extra room around each position. Here that allowance covers two signs, which doesn't mean the planet changed signs that day. Both candidates are shown and this pair is left uninterpreted. The birth chart calculator opens empty, so you can enter either person's details.

Two starters who'd rather not be rescued
Ptolemy explains why Aries comes first at all: 'although there is no natural beginning of the zodiac, since it is a circle,' astrologers begin with the sign of the spring equinox (Tetrabiblos I.10). Modern astrology turns that into the sign of firsts, the trait the Aries sign profile opens with. First to volunteer, first to try, first to say they've got it handled.
Put two of those people together and the start is easy. Plans happen, nobody waits to be asked out, and arguments rarely sit overnight. Day to day, split who decides what (money, trips, the weekend plan), so two starters don't book the same Saturday twice. The trouble is the other side of 'I've got it handled'. Asking for help can feel like losing. When both of you feel that way, the one having a hard time has nobody who'll ask on their behalf.
Strictly speaking, two Aries Suns don't form an aspect in the oldest sense. In the chapter where Ptolemy lists the aspects he names four, and his Loeb translator notes that he 'does not class conjunction as an aspect' there, although the rest of the book treats it as one (Tetrabiblos I.13). Modern astrologers call two planets in one sign a conjunction by sign. Either way, astrology describes two Aries as alike. You may recognize the habit of going quiet in each other and still miss what your partner needs.
When 'fine' means the opposite
One of you takes a hit: a rejection, a friend who stopped replying, a family argument that went badly. You go to the gym at ten at night, or clean the kitchen hard, or pick a fight about something small. The other Aries sees all of it and says nothing, because that's what they'd want if it were them. Two days later it comes out sideways, usually as an argument about the dishes.
Agree on a way to ask for help before either of you needs it.
- Twice is a signal. If either of you says 'I'm fine' twice in one day, the other gets to ask one real question. 'Ask me again at nine' is a fair answer, and then the other one does.
- Ask with options. 'Do you want me to help fix it, take your mind off it, or just sit here?' is far easier for an Aries to answer than 'Do you want to talk?'
- Name your tell on a good day. The late gym session, the sudden deep clean, the extra sharp jokes. A tell you've been told about is much easier to spot.
Venus matches more often here than in any other Aries pairing
The date model adds one more overlap. For two Aries dates, the two Venus signs match in 23.9% of modeled pairs, the highest of the twelve Aries pairings. Both are Venus in Aries in 10.0%. On Aries Sun dates in our 1950–2005 sample, Venus was in Aries on 31.7%, Taurus on 24.6% and Pisces on 24.1%, with Aquarius and Gemini making up the rest.
Mars, the planet that rules Aries, is a different story. Our Aries Sun dates had Mars in Aries 11.4% of the time and Mars in Taurus more often, 14.3%. Both dates have Mars in Aries in just 1.3% of modeled pairs, against 10.0% for Venus in Aries. So if the two of you flirt alike, astrology would credit Venus first (how Venus in Aries shows affection: quick, direct and a little impatient). In astrology's terms, a matched Mars in Aries is much rarer than the shared Sun sign suggests. In bed, two Aries are read as direct and quick to make the first move, and Mars and Venus in each chart shape the details. You can check each Mars sign by birth date, and the Mars in Aries reading only fits if that's actually your placement.
Mercury overlaps too. Mercury signs share an element in 38.2% of modeled pairs of two Aries dates. On an Aries Sun date Mercury can only be in Pisces, Aries or Taurus, so here a shared element means a shared Mercury sign. In the remaining pairs, astrology reads the two of you as talking about hard things in different registers. Compare both birthdays to see which group your dates fall into.
The Aries and Aries date-sample estimates
These estimates pair two dates drawn independently from the 1950–2005 sample, with equal weight for every date within each Sun sign. They describe planetary combinations, not observed couples or relationship success.

Most common Venus pairings in this model: Aries with Taurus (15.6%), Aries with Pisces (15.3%), Taurus with Pisces (11.9%). Reversed Venus pairings are combined because both Sun signs are the same. Mars can occupy any sign with either Sun sign. The most frequent Mars signs on sampled Aries dates are Taurus (14.3%), Gemini (12.3%), Aries (11.4%), Aquarius (10.2%).
We calculated Sun, Mercury, Venus and Mars at noon UTC for every calendar day from January 1, 1950 to December 31, 2005 (20,454 days), with each date weighted equally. For two Aries Suns, pair percentages combine two independent Aries dates and merge reversed orders. They describe how often placements occur together, not how couples behave.
When you're both having a bad month
Sometimes two Aries hit trouble at the same time. A death in the family, a pet you both loved, a friendship that ended badly. Then the competition people warn about turns inward: who's coping better, who cried less, who went back to work sooner. Nobody wins that one.
Some evenings neither of you will have much to give. Say so out loud, so the other one isn't guessing. Small jobs help, like the phone calls or dinner, since astrology reads Aries as steadier with a task than with a feeling. If one of you needs more than the other can give right now, bringing in a friend or a counselor isn't a defeat.
The Moon sign is where astrology looks for what each person needs when it hurts. Moon in Aries wants to act fast; other Moon signs want company, quiet or time. Two Aries Suns can have any Moon sign at all, and how two Moon signs combine often explains more about a bad month than the shared Sun does.
Two Aries as friends, siblings or coworkers
As friends, two Aries make quick plans, give honest opinions and rarely sulk. Among friends, 'I'm fine' looks like the friend who goes quiet for three weeks and reappears as if nothing happened. Agree on a signal in advance. One word in the group chat, an emoji, or anything that means 'I actually need a hand' without a long message.
Siblings who are both Aries often grew up competing for the same title, the tough one. As adults it helps to retire that title on purpose. At work, two Aries make a fast team, but neither will ask the other to cover a shift or take a task back. Say early on that asking is allowed, and then prove it by asking first.
Your Moon, their Mars, and who notices first
In astrology, who notices first shows up between the charts, as one person's Moon meeting the other's Mars. That contact can run one way and not the other, and a shared Sun sign says nothing about it, or about each person's actual Mars and Moon signs. Finding it takes a birth chart with a birth time for each partner, then a synastry comparison that lists the aspects in both directions.
Astrology reads all of this as a set of tendencies. It can't say how a particular couple will treat each other on a bad day. Start on a good week, with one question each: 'When you're having a rough one, what would you like me to notice?' Mars meets Mars in only one other Aries pairing, Scorpio; the Aries matches read by ruling planet show what changes when it meets Venus, Mercury or Saturn instead.
Same Sun sign, different comfort: an Aries with Venus in Pisces
Two Aries partners can share a Sun sign and still show care differently. The first has Venus in Aries and shows care by doing something: booking the table, fixing the bike, turning up with food. The second has Venus in Pisces, which astrology reads as softer and more intuitive, the kind of affection that notices a mood before anyone mentions it. Venus in Aries with Venus in Pisces is one of the most common combinations for two Aries dates, at 15.3% of modeled pairs with the two orders combined.
When one of them has a bad week, the Venus in Pisces partner probably sees it first and waits to be invited in. The Venus in Aries partner may not notice until the argument about the dishes, then tries to fix everything on the spot. One waits for an invitation and the other starts fixing things, so 'fix it, distract me, or just sit with me?' saves this couple more guesswork than most. Give the Venus in Aries partner a Mars in Taurus as well, the most common Mars sign on Aries Sun dates, and their anger will likely run slower and last longer than the Sun sign suggests.

Aries and Aries questions
Can two Aries make a relationship work?
Yes. Astrology gives two Aries a lot of common ground: the same element, the same drive to start things and quick forgiveness after a fight. The arguments usually end fast. What trips them up is the silence when one of them is struggling. Agree on how to ask for help early, and don't treat coping alone as a contest.
Why do Aries fall for other Aries?
Recognition, mostly. Another Aries matches the pace, says yes to the plan and doesn't need a week to decide. In our date model, two Aries birthdays also share a Venus sign more often than any other Aries pairing, so the way they flirt can feel familiar from the first message. That familiarity is the draw. It isn't proof of a deeper bond.
Does gender change how two Aries get along?
No. Astrology reads an Aries Sun the same way whatever a person's gender, so 'are a male Aries and a female Aries compatible?' gets the same answer as any two Aries. Look at each person's Venus and Mars signs instead. They differ from one Aries to the next, and they shape how each of you flirts, argues and asks for support.
Is it hard to date another Aries?
It's easy to start and harder to keep comfortable. Two Aries rarely run out of things to do together. The hard part is the everyday contest: two people who both want to pick the restaurant, plan the trip and win the argument. Split the decisions by area and there's much less to compete over.
