When Is Chiron in Taurus? Three Rounds From June 2026 to May 2034, and the Chiron Return of the 1976 to 1984 Generation

Terracotta Taurus arc holding a chain of retrograde loops, beside the Taurus and Chiron symbols.

Chiron is in Taurus in three rounds, not one long stay. The first ran from June 19, 2026, when it entered Taurus, to September 17, 2026, when it backed into Aries. The second runs from April 14, 2027 until it moves into Gemini on July 19, 2033, and the third from October 23, 2033, when it backs into Taurus, until it leaves for good on May 5, 2034 (US Eastern dates). That's why some calendars stop in 2033 and others run to 2034: the shorter ones count only the long middle round.

Between the first and second rounds, Chiron is back in Aries, from September 17, 2026 until April 14, 2027.

The natal placement is a separate matter. Chiron in Taurus in a birth chart belongs mostly to people born from 1976 to 1984, who turn 42 to 50 in 2026, and to people born from 1926 to 1934. For the 1976 to 1984 group, these three rounds are their Chiron return.

Quick answer

Chiron in Taurus marks two birth windows: May 28, 1976 to April 9, 1984, minus an Aries gap in late 1976 and early 1977 and a Gemini gap from June to November 1983, and 1926 to 1934. Modern readings tie it to worth, money, safety and the body. It doesn't predict money trouble or illness.

Why some Chiron in Taurus dates stop in 2033 and others in 2034

Chiron enters most signs in a back-and-forth. It touches the new sign, slips back on its yearly retrograde loop, then crosses for good, and Taurus gets that at both ends. After its last entry from Aries on April 14, 2027, Chiron stays in Taurus without a break for 2,288 days on JPL Horizons positions, until it moves into Gemini on July 19, 2033.

There's no third step back into Aries. Chiron's direct station of January 10, 2028 comes at 0°01′ Taurus, about one arc-minute inside the sign, so it turns forward without crossing the line. A few months later, Chiron meets Saturn exactly on June 8, 2028, at 6°51′ Taurus, its first conjunction with Saturn since April 1966.

These rounds follow Chiron's long run through Aries, 2018 to 2027. And Taurus sits opposite Scorpio, so from here Chiron opposes natal Chiron in Scorpio. The 1976 to 1984 group met its own opposition between 1996 and 1999, the years Chiron was crossing Scorpio, and the people born in those years meet theirs from 2026 to 2033 as Chiron crosses Taurus: Chiron in Scorpio and the 1996 to 1999 group.

All of this is the transit, the Chiron in the sky that every chart shares. For the 1976 to 1984 group the Taurus rounds are the return, with first exact passes from 2026 to 2033, depending on the natal degree.

Transit note, October 2026

Chiron entered Taurus on June 19, 2026, moved back into Aries by retrograde motion on September 17, 2026, and re-enters Taurus for good on April 14, 2027 (US Eastern dates). It has been retrograde since August 3, 2026, at 0°52′ Taurus, and turns direct on January 6, 2027, at 26°15′ Aries. Babies born during that first step have Chiron in Taurus, and so will children born from April 14, 2027 until Chiron moves into Gemini on July 19, 2033. The transit itself is a separate thing from the natal placement this page is about.

Born 1976 to 1984: the Aries gap and the late Taurus window

The Taurus generation was born in three stretches, US Eastern dates: May 28 to October 12, 1976; March 28, 1977 to June 20, 1983; and November 29, 1983 to April 9, 1984. Between the first two, from October 13, 1976 to March 27, 1977, Chiron was back in Aries. Between the last two, from June 21 to November 28, 1983, it was in Gemini.

Two groups are easy to misfile. Year-only lists put babies born in late 1976 and early 1977 in Taurus, and they have Chiron in Aries. The same lists put babies born from November 29, 1983 to April 9, 1984 in Gemini, and they have Taurus. On the change days themselves (May 28 and October 13, 1976; March 28, 1977; June 21 and November 29, 1983; April 10, 1984), the birth time decides. A Chiron sign lookup by birth date handles the edges and flags a birth date that falls on a change day.

In our count, 7.7% of U.S. births from 1940 to 2024 have Chiron in Taurus (24.53 million births), built on NCHS annual birth totals (1940 to 2018; 2019 to 2024 from NCHS's Births: Final Data reports and 2024 natality file) spread evenly over each year. All of them come from the 1976 to 1984 window, the only Taurus window inside those years.

Your Sun sign doesn't tell you your Chiron sign. Being a Taurus by Sun sign is a separate question, and the Taurus sign guide answers it.

From April 14, 2027 until it moves into Gemini on July 19, 2033, Chiron stays in Taurus, in the return years for people born with Chiron in Taurus in the windows above. A free account lists today's transit aspects to your natal planets and Chiron.

Worth, money and the body in the readings

Every reading of Chiron in a sign is modern, and Chiron was found partway through the Taurus years. Charles Kowal spotted it on November 1, 1977, on Palomar plates exposed that October. Kowal's discovery plate of October 18, 1977 caught Chiron at 3°49′ Taurus, moving retrograde. The oldest sign-by-sign readings are Zane Stein's, from 1983.

Stein gave Chiron in Taurus "a personal imperative to search for values that will remain, when everything else around them changes," and wrote that "as they evolve, they develop a great deal of concern for the needy." He also called these people "quite innovative in solving problems in the material world" (Interpreting Chiron, 2nd ed., 1983, p. B10). Martin Lass reads the same ground as fear: "A core fear of losing safety, security, abundance and, ultimately, Love" (Musings of a Rogue Comet, 2nd ed., 2002, ch. 5). Barbara Hand Clow found a moral code instead: "My clients with Chiron in Taurus are all heavily influenced by a morality system which they value greatly" (Chiron, 2nd ed., Llewellyn 1993, ch. 7).

Put two people born in 1981 side by side. Both have Chiron in Taurus. One keeps three months of pay in savings and still checks the balance every morning. The other runs the neighborhood food drive and will cover a friend's rent before topping up her own savings. Lass's fear of losing security fits the first more closely, and Stein's concern for the needy fits the second. The two readings overlap, but they aren't interchangeable.

Money worry is common whatever the chart says. In the Federal Reserve's report Economic Well-Being of U.S. Households in 2025, "Sixty-three percent of adults said they would cover a hypothetical $400 emergency expense exclusively using cash, savings, or a credit card paid off at the next statement." That figure is about all U.S. adults, not about any Chiron sign.

The 1976 to 1984 Chiron return, 2026 to 2033

Those born with Chiron in Taurus from May 28, 1976 to April 9, 1984 meet their Chiron return from 2026 to 2033. The earliest births go first. A baby born in late May 1976 had Chiron at the very start of Taurus, and Chiron reached that degree again just after it entered Taurus on June 19, 2026. Later births wait longer: Serena Williams (born September 26, 1981, Chiron at 22°25′ Taurus) and Beyoncé (born September 4, 1981, 22°49′ Taurus) meet their first exact pass in late May and early June 2032, on JPL Horizons positions.

The earlier hits came young for this sign. The median ages are 12.0 at the first square, 17.6 at the opposition and 27.1 at the waning square, which put the 1976 to 1984 group's first square in 1991 to 1993 and its opposition in 1996 to 1999. The return arrives at a median 49.7, between 48.4 and 50.9 depending on the birth date, and it usually comes in three exact passes spread over about a year. The June 8, 2028 meeting with Saturn falls inside these return years.

Stein, who founded the Association for Studying Chiron in 1978, wrote that "When the Chiron return arrives, it can be an evolutionary leap." He didn't save that for the return, though: the same chapter closes with "The lessons of Chiron can be learned at any age" (Essence and Application, 1985, as excerpted on his site).

Is Chiron in Taurus hard? Love, work and the money question

It's one of the slower signs, so a large group shares it, and the fears people bring to it are concrete: money, a steady job, the body. The body is part of it because modern readings treat Taurus as the sign of physical comfort and safety, from food and sleep to feeling at ease in your own skin. No placement predicts poverty, a lost job or an illness, and none of the lines quoted here claims one does. What they describe is a sore spot about having enough, and how much it hurts depends on the rest of the chart and on the life around it.

At work it can look like taking the safe job and resenting it, or building something solid for other people while never pricing your own work fairly. In love the readings put security first: wanting proof that a relationship will hold before relaxing into it, or clinging to routines when a partner wants change. Clow's "morality system" points the same way, toward firm private rules about what's fair, money between partners included.

Stein's reading points to what helps: values "that will remain," picked on purpose. Two questions to try: how much money, as an actual number, would cover the bill you're worried about? And what do you keep doing for security that no longer makes you feel safe? If money worry is costing you sleep or affecting your health, talk to a professional.

A few things make the sign reading more specific. The house shows where the theme lands, such as earnings, work or partners, and it needs a birth time; Chiron in the 2nd house, the house often paired with Taurus, is a separate placement from Chiron in Taurus. Aspects tie it to other parts of the chart: Chiron touching the Sun, Venus or Saturn is read as linking the worth theme to identity, love or duty, and those contacts come from the birth date, while an aspect to the Moon or the rising sign needs the time. And in our count, 41.3% of U.S. births with Chiron in Taurus from 1940 to 2024 came while Chiron was retrograde; readings that use the retrograde mark treat it as a more inward version of the same worry.

The 1926 to 1934 group and the Depression years

The older Taurus group was born from May 24, 1926 to March 22, 1934, in three stretches (on May 24, 1926 and March 23, 1934 the birth time decides), and turns 92 to 100 in 2026. Chiron was in Taurus without a break from March 25, 1927 until it moved into Gemini on June 6, 1933, a span that takes in the 1929 crash and the early Depression years. In the same excerpt Stein wrote that "when the poor family was trying to stay alive during the Depression, Chiron in the sign Taurus brought out the Taurus survival instinct." That's his reading; the dates are the measured part.

This group met its Chiron return between 1976 and 1983, so Kowal's 1977 discovery fell inside it. Martin Luther King Jr. (born January 15, 1929, Chiron at 5°25′ Taurus) and Audrey Hepburn (born May 4, 1929, 10°03′ Taurus) were born in it. Hepburn lived through the Dutch famine of 1944 to 1945 as a teenager in the Netherlands, and from 1988 she worked for UNICEF. Millions of Dutch civilians went through the same famine, so her chart explains none of it; it's a documented life that happens to touch the themes this sign is given.

Babies born in the summer of 2026

The newest Taurus group is small. Babies born from June 19 to September 16, 2026 have Chiron in Taurus at 0°00′ to 0°52′, the very start of the sign. June 19 and September 17 are birth-time days: Chiron crossed into Taurus at 5:21 p.m. EDT on June 19 and back into Aries at 9:50 p.m. EDT on September 17, so a baby born earlier on September 17 has Taurus too. The rest of 2026's babies have Chiron in late Aries, from 22°35′ to 29°59′.

Those children meet their first Chiron square in 2041, their opposition in 2047 and their return in 2077, when Chiron is back in Taurus. Children born from April 14, 2027 to July 18, 2033 and from October 23, 2033 to May 4, 2034 join them in the sign, with the birth time deciding on each change day. Sharing this placement doesn't mean these children will have similar childhoods.

FAQ

Born between October 1976 and March 1977: why does my chart say Chiron in Aries, not Taurus?

Because Chiron really was in Aries then. It entered Taurus on May 28, 1976, backed into Aries on October 13, 1976 on its yearly retrograde loop, and crossed into Taurus again on March 28, 1977 (US Eastern dates). Orlando Bloom, born January 13, 1977, is one example, with Chiron at 27°18′ Aries. If you were born on October 13, 1976 or March 28, 1977, your birth time decides. Anyone with an Aries Chiron from those months has every exact pass of their return by April 14, 2027, when Chiron moves into Taurus for good.

How long will Chiron stay in Taurus this time?

About seven years in the sign, spread across almost eight. Counting all three rounds, Chiron spends 7.04 years in Taurus between its first entry on June 19, 2026 and its final move into Gemini on May 5, 2034, a span of 7.88 years. The unbroken middle round alone lasts 2,288 days, from April 14, 2027 until the move into Gemini on July 19, 2033. Its average Taurus visit is 6.86 years. After this one, Chiron's next Taurus visit begins in 2077.

Does Chiron in Taurus mean money will always be a struggle?

No. Chiron in Taurus is shared by most people born across several years, 24.53 million U.S. births from 1940 to 2024 in our count, and no placement sets anyone's income. Modern readings tie it to worry about having enough, and that worry can look like careful saving as easily as money trouble. Zane Stein even read the placement as quite innovative with practical problems.

What happens when Chiron returns to Taurus for people born from 1976 to 1984?

Chiron comes back to the exact degree it held at your birth, usually in three passes over about a year. For the whole 1976 to 1984 group those passes start between 2026 and 2033: earliest for the 1976 births, latest for the 1983 and 1984 ones. Zane Stein wrote that the return "can be an evolutionary leap," and in the same breath that "for many, it is too difficult," so it isn't a promise either way. Your natal degree sets your dates, so check your chart for it.
